Sarpong agrees with the sentiments of Dr Gideon Boako that the goldbod is a deliberate profiteering scheme.
Why would anyone buy and sell gold wouldn’t installung or paying for insurance we call hedging books?
Why would anyone give state money to their party cronies to go and buy gold above market price and discount it to sell it below market price ?
All the costs of gold exporters; cost of assay etc are all lower than market prices
Goldbod is essentially using the states resources to trade and make intentionally losses as they use those losses to funnel money out and leave the losses on the states books….
The losses are much more than the 1.7B dollars stated.
Total losses will be more than 3billion dollars if we include other program losses, tax losses, agric losses, environmental losses etc …
Why would a developing nation squarnder such an opportunity to make losses instead when we need just 300M usd to complete the existing Accra- Kumasi road, need just 500million usd Govt participation ro complete the western railway line and Boankra inland port.
We Need just 500M to develop the agric storage, processing and distribution infrastructure to industrialize the middle of the country.
Need another 500M to complete half of the agenda 111 hospitals.
Need 500M to complete Phase 2 of 1D1F. I could go on and on.
The real loser here are those of us living in rural areas .
They dont care about us farmers who provide 45% of the jobs in this nation and rural people who represent 50% of our population.
They dont care about us because they believe we are far away in the bush and cannot make enough noise to hurt them politically.
But the 10% middle class, they really fear and are doing everything possible to keep them quiet via lower FX and keeping traditional media, CSOs, clergy and others quiet would not be static as time progresses.
They are sacrificing the nation for themselves in retirement, whiles the rest of us suffer.
