The Principal of the Mampong Technical College of Education Prof Ebenezer Agyemang Badu has reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to redefining technical skills training to meet the changing demands of industry and the job market.

According to the Principal, the college is positioning itself to provide students with relevant practical skills, knowledge and innovative approaches that will make them competitive in the world of work.

He said technical education must go beyond the acquisition of academic qualifications, stressing the need to equip students with hands-on skills that can promote entrepreneurship, employment and national development.

The Principal further noted that the college would continue to embrace technology and innovation in its teaching and learning processes.

He explained that strengthening technical and vocational education remains critical to addressing unemployment and developing a skilled workforce capable of contributing meaningfully to Ghana’s socio-economic transformation.

Mampong Technical College of Education has a long-standing history in technical teacher education, with its programmes including a dedicated Technical and Vocational department.

The Principal therefore called on students and stakeholders to take technical skills development seriously, saying the future of education must place greater emphasis on practical knowledge, creativity and problem-solving.

He expressed confidence that with the right investment, innovation and collaboration with industry, Mampong Technical College of Education can become a leading centre for technical skills development in Ghana.
