GPL 2025/26 UPDATES: ATTA AGYEI’S GOAL PUSHED HEART OF LIONS OVER BEREKUM CHELSEA ON THE GPL LEAGUE TABLE

Heart of Lions secured a tough 1–0 win against Berekum Chelsea in their Week Nine Ghana Premier League match at the Kpando Sports Stadium, courtesy of a late goal by Paul Atta Agyei.
The match commenced with the Lions demonstrating immediate purpose, but forward Obeng Junior was ruled offside merely two minutes in after escaping past the Chelsea defense.
The hosts kept attacking, and in the 23rd minute, Ishmael Addo wasted a great chance from a short distance, failing to score what might have been the first goal.
Neither team could establish a rhythm in the first half, which concluded without any goals despite a couple of opportunities for each side.
The latter part continued in a comparable manner until the final moments when substitute Paul Atta Agyei ultimately shattered the stalemate, coolly putting it in the net with under ten minutes remaining.
The win allows Heart of Lions to rise to third place in the standings with 18 points.
Berekum Chelsea, however, stands 14th with only 8 points after playing nine matches.
Next, the Lions will head out to compete against Young Apostles, and Chelsea will come back home to challenge Nations FC
