Asante Kotoko Beats Hearts of Oak in Accra to Stay Unbeaten

Asante Kotoko clinched a hard-fought 1–0 victory over archrivals Hearts of Oak in the first Super Clash of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season at the Accra Sports Stadium. The win not only gave the Porcupine Warriors bragging rights but also preserved their unbeaten run in the league.

The decisive moment came late in the first half when Kotoko were awarded a penalty after Amankwah Baafi fouled Peter Amidu Acquah inside the box.
Morifing Donzo stepped up and coolly converted the spot kick, marking his first goal for the club.Kotoko dominated early proceedings, with Saaka Dauda and Hubert Gyau testing Hearts’ goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.
Hearts of Oak struggled to find rhythm and managed only one shot on target throughout the match.

This win also marked a historic moment for Kotoko, ending a 50-year winless streak against Hearts of Oak in the month of November.
