UEW_Cooperative Credit Union Goes Digital

The UEW Co-operative Credit Union has officially embraced digital banking, marking a major milestone in its modernization efforts.

The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) Co-operative Credit Union has launched a suite of digital services aimed at transforming how members access financial solutions.

This initiative is part of the union’s broader strategy to enhance convenience, security, and accessibility for its growing membership base.

USSD Banking Platform: Members can now access their accounts and perform basic transactions by dialing 248211#.

This service allows users to check balances, transfer funds, and make payments without needing internet access.

Mobile and Internet Banking: The credit union has rolled out mobile and online banking platforms, enabling users to manage their finances from smartphones and computers.

These platforms support savings, loans, insurance, and investment services

Prospective members can open savings, current, or fixed deposit accounts online, with competitive interest rates

As part of the digital rollout, the union has implemented enhanced cybersecurity protocols to protect user data and transactions.

Coinciding with its 30th anniversary, UEWCCU commissioned a new head office block in Winneba to support its digital operations and improve customer service. The facility offers personalized banking services and was inaugurated by UEW Vice Chancellor Prof. Stephen Jobson Mitchual.

The digital transformation aligns with UEWCCU’s mission to provide efficient, competitive, and secure financial services. It complements other recent initiatives such as environmental sustainability programs and infrastructure upgrades at branches in Senya Bereku and Cape Coast.

This move positions UEWCCU as a forward-thinking financial institution ready to meet the evolving needs of its members.

If you’re a member or considering joining, the digital tools now available make it easier than ever to engage with your finances.

Mrs Kurl Wilson the CEO of the Union briefed the media during her visit to the ASANTE MAMPONG branch in an open forum event.
