The Headmaster of Asante Akyem Bompata Presbyterian Senior High School (PRESEC) Mr Clifford Addo Diabene has raised urgent concerns over the deteriorating state of infrastructure and resources at the institution, calling for immediate intervention from government, old students, and benevolent organizations.

Speaking to journalist during the 60th Anniversary celebration of the school, the Headmaster lamented that the school, once a beacon of academic excellence in the Ashanti Region, is now struggling to provide a conducive environment for teaching and learning.

He highlighted challenges such as overcrowded classrooms, inadequate furniture, poor sanitation facilities, and a lack of modern teaching aids and befitting multi functional auditorium

> “Our students are eager to learn, but the environment is failing them. Without proper support, it will be difficult to maintain the standards we are known for,” he said.

Teachers also expressed frustration over the absence of science laboratory equipment and ICT resources, which they say hampers practical learning and puts students at a disadvantage compared to their peers in better-resourced schools.

Parents and community leaders have echoed the Headmaster’s concerns, stressing that education is the backbone of development and must be prioritized.

They appealed to stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service, and philanthropic groups, to come to the aid of the school.

Despite the challenges, the Headmaster praised the resilience of both staff and students, noting that they continue to strive for excellence.

He emphasized that with timely intervention, Bompata PRESEC could reclaim its position as one of the leading second-cycle institutions in the region.
