MAMPONG UEW COOPERATIVE CREDIT UNION SUPPORT NATIONAL FARMERS DAY ACTIVITIES.

In a remarkable show of solidarity and support for Ghana’s agricultural sector, the Asante Mampong UEW Cooperative Credit Union has made a significant contribution to this year’s National Farmers Day celebration by donating essential farming logistics to local farmers.
The donation, which included items such as knapsack sprayers, cutlasses, Wellington boots, protective clothing, and bags of fertilizer, was presented during a colorful ceremony held at the Mampong Municipal Assembly grounds. The event brought together farmers, traditional leaders, government officials, and members of the cooperative union to honor the tireless efforts of farmers in the region.
Speaking at the ceremony,Rev Kwame Nkrumah Board Member of the Credit Union, emphasized the union’s commitment to empowering farmers and enhancing agricultural productivity. “Our farmers are the backbone of our economy. Supporting them with the right tools is not just a gesture of appreciation but a strategic investment in food security and rural development,” he stated.
The Mampong Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Yakubu Issif Sarah Adjei, lauded the Credit Union for its timely intervention and called on other institutions to emulate the gesture. “This partnership between financial institutions and the agricultural community is vital for sustainable development,” she noted.
These tools will go a long way to ease our work and improve yields and would go extra mile to increase the national food busket.
The Asante Mampong UEW Cooperative Credit Union’s contribution underscores the importance of community-based financial institutions in national development and highlights the critical role of public-private partnerships in supporting Ghana’s agricultural agenda.
